I like to try to guess whose picture it might be before looking at the bottom of the name under the pic. I'm beginning to recognize some common contributors and I did guess this was yours, Dave. There is something about how you align your subject with the surroundings that is personal to you. I like the fish's shadow on the coral. I'm unsure whether I like the dark background blending into the black on the damselfish's head. I do like the sharpening focus from the front of the fin to the tail, -it give the eye detail to marvel at on the tail and a sense of fwd motion at the same time.

Interesting. It never occured to me to play the "who shot this?" game. Sounds like fun.
About the picture: yeah, the black-on-black near the head is not the best arrangement, but sometimes you just have to take what you get. :)
I'd be curious to know what you find common in various people's pictures. I'm sure there's some good information there about technique and such...
